University Lecturer, Honorary Consultant in Pain Medicine
Dr Michael Lee joined the Division of Anaesthesia as University Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Pain Medicine on Dec 2013. He graduated in Medicine from the National University of Singapore and trained in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine in the Eastern Deanery (Norwich, Addenbrookes and Ipswich Hospitals). Mike was awarded an MRC Clinical Training Research Fellowship based jointly in the Division of Anaesthesia in Cambridge University and the FMRIB centre in Oxford University, where he researched the neural correlates of central sensitisation and cannabinoid analgesia in humans. He is keen to apply psychometrics, body sensing and brain neuroimaging techniques to aid decision making in pharmacotherapy for persistent pain in patients. Currently, he serves as Chief Investigator for MRC-funded early phase clinical trials and clinical genetics studies.
